Worship

Saint Francis of AssisiWe are deeply aware that our worship space is sacred space and that corporate worship is central to the understanding of the Christian faith.  Together, we express our thanks and praise to God through prayer and music that is accessible to many people.  Our principal source of worship is the Book of Common Prayer, with the occasional use of supplemental materials.  Worship is enhanced through a variety of musical offerings, engaging sermons, the active participation of multiple generations, and by encountering Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist.

To help facilitate worship and spiritual growth, our space includes a prayer station (called a prie-dieu), artistic murals of the Stations of the Cross, stained glass windows depicting significant moments in the lives of Jesus and St. Francis of Assisi, and overhead lampshades that tell the story of God’s work in this world.

Occasional services are held at varying times throughout the year to enrich our opportunities to give thanks to God.  These additional services include Christmas Eve, Epiphany, Ash Wednesday, an outdoor service of Holy Eucharist followed by the annual parish picnic, St. Francis Day Blessing of the Animals, and the community-wide ecumenical Thanksgiving Eve service.
